Idaho Outfitters, Sean and Ginger Glaccum have owned Payette River Company for over a decade. PRC is a “mom & pops shop” with hands on owners and a small crew of professionals.
Let’s meet the team!
Sean spent a couple weeks exploring some wild territory in Peru with his bud Bond in their kayaks. This was followed by a couple weeks of “outfitter time.”
Owner and licensed Idaho Outfitter, Sean Glaccum, has been a river guide for 20 years and managed PRC from 1996-1998. He was a guide on the Middlefork of the Salmon from 1999 to 2005. Sean has also rafted and kayaked for 11 seasons in Nepal and India and one in New Zealand. In the winter, you can find him on Bald mountain for Sun Valley Ski Patrol. He has his Wilderness First Responder and Outdoor Emergency Medical Care Certification. Sean has been published a photographer in Paddler Magazine, Outside and Kayak Magazine. He is not only an experienced guide but an experienced kayaker as well. Sean started doing river trips with his family when he was 6 years old. By the age of twelve he learned how to kayak and since then he has been traveling the world searching for adventure. As well as fulfilling the capacity of lead guide, Sean will be responsible for all on-river operations.
Owner & licensed Idaho Outfitter, Ginger Glaccum, has been rafting for 16 years. Her experience includes countless private trips in the U.S. as well as extensive commercial trips in Africa and Nepal. Her paddle boat flipped 8 times in the croc infested waters of the mighty Zambezi, and she swam a section of the Marsyandi. Back in her native Idaho she has worked in restaurants in Ketchum for 18 years. She is also a published photographer in Kayak magazine. Ginger will take care of all your bookings and make sure you come to the right place and bring the right things.
Ewan Moffat is in his fifth year with PRC, joining us all the way from Glasgow, Scotland where he is at school. After honing his skills on the Trisuli River in Nepal he worked his first season on the Payette in 2012. Undisputed PRC badminton champion and providing some foreign flare to little Lowman, Ewan will be coming out for early season high water this year and can’t wait to get back on the water.
Nathan VanSoest was born & raised with his heart and soul connected to the water. As a youth he spent many hours canoeing the lesser known Rouge River of Rockford Mi. His post college adventures led him to hike from Georgia to Maine along the Appalachian Trail. Once in Maine he reconnected to his aquatic roots and spent 7 summers in Maine guiding whitewater, racing canoes and sailing. During the winter he lived on the islands of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, sailing, fishing and bartending. In 2014 the call of the west overpowered his desire to live on the coast, and spent the summer guiding in Jackson Wy on the snake river. There he heard the lore of the mighty South Fork of the Payette, unable to resist the beautiful and exciting whitewater, he joined our family in the spring of 2015.
Joe Pearson was born and raised in Iowa but soon found that the Midwest was not for him. He has loved rivers from a very young age, but they were never dynamic enough in Iowa. After many trips to the Rockies during his teens, Joe moved out west to Montana where he worked for an outfitting ranch South of Missoula. He soon moved to Colorado and began his guiding career—rafting in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Joe spent many years rafting on a variety of rivers throughout Colorado, but eventually expanded on. After another stint in Iowa, he headed to the Eastern rivers and spent a couple of seasons in West Virginia on the Gauley and New Rivers, but he missed “space.” After another short-lived time in Iowa, he finally made it back out west and found home—Idaho. Joe has been rafting with PRC now for 5 seasons.
