Payette River Company is located in Lowman, Idaho — a small community deep in the Boise National Forest on the South Fork Payette River. Finding directions to Payette River rafting is straightforward from Boise, Sun Valley, or McCall — though cell service can be spotty after leaving town so follow these written directions carefully and do not rely solely on GPS.
We are right at the put-in for both river sections, which means no long shuttles and no wasted time once you arrive. Look for the cream building with a green roof at mile marker 76 on Highway 21. Please park on the downstream side of the building.
Take Highway 55 north to Banks. Turn right onto the Banks-Lowman Highway and follow it along the South Fork Payette River to Lowman. At Lowman turn left onto Highway 21. We are located at mile marker 76 on the left — look for the cream building with a green roof. Turn left onto Rafter’s Lane or the next left onto Memory Lane. Please park on the downstream side of the building.

If you are coming from the east side of Boise or prefer the scenic drive, take Highway 21 northeast through Idaho City and continue up the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway all the way to Lowman. We are located at mile marker 76 on the right — look for the cream building with a green roof. Turn right onto Rafter’s Lane or the next right onto Memory Lane. Please park on the downstream side of the building.

Check in at the cream building with the green roof at mile marker 76 on Highway 21. Our team will get you checked in, fitted with gear, and briefed before your trip. Half day guests should arrive at 4:15pm. All other trips depart at 9:45am — please arrive a few minutes early.
You will notice Kirkham Hot Springs at mile marker 77 — just one mile past us. If you arrive early it is a great spot to visit before your trip.
